Student Danielle DeTiberus’s Essay Published by On Being

Good news to start the new year. Danielle DeTiberus’s essay “Holding a Sacred Space of Many Silences,”¬†adapted from an exam essay she wrote for the Spring 2014 “Narratives of Slavery” class, has just been published by On Being.¬†The publication of Danielle’s essay means that there are now ten essays from that 2014 class available on-line (the other nine on this blog-site). Each essay is impressive in its own right; collectively they make a very powerful contribution to the still-essential conversation about racial slavery and its legacy here in Charleston, as well as regionally, nationally, and globally.
